Are there sponsorship opportunities available?
The Garden in Transit Project ended on December 31, 2007. Although the project has ended, Portraits of Hope is always looking for major sponsors to help us fund our future projects. Questions About the Project:

How long will the taxis be covered with the artwork?
The panels will be placed on taxis from September 1, 2007 until December 31, 2007.

How is the city of New York involved?
New York City has approved Garden in Transit as a once in a hundred year opportunity. The project coincides with the city’s centennial celebration of the NYC metered taxi, Taxi ’07.

How many NYC taxis will be involved?
This is a volunteer project for taxi operators. We expect thousands!

How many square feet of vinyl was used?
With your help we may paint up to 800K square feet of vinyl!

Are there any volunteer opportunities for this project?
The Garden in Transit Taxi Project officially ended on December 31, 2007. Currently there are no studio sessions going on. You can receive our Portraits of Hope Newsletter by filling out the form located on the side navigation. You may always come back to our site and check to see what's going on.

Do I have to be an artist to participate?
With Garden In Transit everyone’s an artist! We welcome everyone to participate in visually transforming the city of New York.

What does a school session look like?
A school session with GIT is both fun and educational! To learn more about the educational and artistic components of our program click here.

Will Portraits of Hope/Garden in Transit come to a hospital?

Working with and in hospitals is an integral part of the GIT mission. If you have a hospital or in patient facility you would like GIT to visit please contact us and we’ll be happy to arrange a session.

What ages do you work with?
We work with all ages although most participants are usually between 8 and 18.

Can adults participate?
Of course! We welcome adults to paint with us. If you have a group you would like to organize or if you’re an individual who wants to make their mark on NYC.


Does GIT have special events?
We have hosted special events at our studio in the past and many more are in the works. To stay up to date on our special events please join our mailing list.
